Let me give you the rundown on my experience: Hariloss: I didn't notice any at all and as me with shorter hair, unless your Fabio, I dont think you really can tell your hair is falling out in the shower or as you comb through it. Recovery: With no complications you will feel fine in 7 days. I could have gone back to work in a week if that says anything. Don't worry, it truly is not bad at all... Skin: So far so good! I am down almost 100 pounds and 70 of that is since surgery on Dec 3, 07. My skin has bounced back for the most part... Put it this way, I rock a A-Shirt (also known as a tank top, under shirt or my choice "wife-beater" as seen on Cops shirt, JK!) with no worries! Start Exersising as soon as you get out of surgery and can get your feel under you. Walk, walk, walk! I was walking around the hospital every two hours through the day and night. I even had them wake me up, which they did often anyway, so that I could go for a walk. This helps with blood clots, fever, ect.... WALK! After that and out of the hospital keep up the walking and at 2 weeks I was allowed to start the work outs. Dont sweat the small stuff, just make sure your ready for the best years to come!
2) How long does the average recovery time take for laproscopic RNY/ well, it depends on what you consider recovery time - you will be in the hospital 2 days and be released - personally I went back to work 6 days after I had surgery. The first 2 weeks is where I really felt the cruddiest and then it got better
3) Am I going to have alot of excess skin? A lot... well its hard to say - you will have some, its expected... we all end up with some sort of wiggle jiggle excess skin - no matter how young you are
4) When can i start exersising.. I was to walk 20 minutes a day when I was released from the hospital. After 2 weeks I was cleared for all exercise except for ab work... that had to wait until after 6-8 weeks out.
